About Lane End Lions Football Club

Lane End Lions FC was founded in 2007 after the Lane End Sports Association who have recently celebrated their 125th anniversary, invited us to play our home games at the Lane End Playing Fields.  This is the first youth team playing at Lane End in over 10 years.

Managed by Joe Robinson, after being with various other local clubs, the Lions were born.

We were created with the help of many friends, who have now become official members of the club.

Harold Clements – Chairman

Anita Hanson- Secretary

Maria Robinson – Treasurer

Joe Robinson – U14s Manager

Stuart Walton – U14s Coach

Also aided by many parents whose sons play for the club.

We have been extremely fortunate in receiving sponsorship from many local companies Elga, Wycombe District Council, Party Friends, Manor Estates, SAD Light Box Co and Steve Hutt Builders.  This sponsorship is invaluable to our formation and without their help creating the club would have been a lot harder.  Many club members have also raised money for the club through a Jumble Sale, Sponsored Walk, Collecting Mobile Phones, Superstore Packing Day and Christmas Raffle.

On home match days our club house is open.  We provide hot refreshments of Tea/Coffee and Bacon Rolls and the Bar is open after the matches, so no one goes hungry or thirsty.

Season 2007/08 – Our First Season

We joined the Bucks Free Press Junior Football League as under 14s and entered into Division 5.  We celebrated an unprecedented 12 out of 12 league victories, scoring 116 goals and only conceding 8.  We were crowned Division 5 Champions in May and the LIONS STARTED TO ROAR.  Promoted to Division 4 we are now looking forward to Season 2008/09 as U15’s.

We would like to welcome Mark Lockwood to the club as the Manager of our new U12’s team and wish him and all the new boys and parents who have joined over the summer good luck for the coming season.  We hope everyone has a lot of fun over the next year and the success of the club continues.

Good Luck to both teams in their respective divisions and lets hope we have two teams of Champions come May.

COME ON YOU LIONS
