Sunday 18th Oct - Home Lane End Lions v Little Chalfont Cobras U16s
Lane End started brightly against Little Chalfont in this all Division 1 clash. Deservedly Lane End took the lead with James Young’s well timed run and finish 1 – 0. Lane End were playing well and taking the game to Chalfont and went close several times to add to the score. Just before half time a long punt up field from the Chalfont keeper forced an error at the back and Chalfont were level 1 -1 at half time.
Lane End came out for the second half in a different gear. Their football was flowing and they were playing their best football of the season so far. Ryan Carroll pulling all the strings from the centre of midfield, he sent Isaac Tutu away, who danced his way past several players before smashing it into the corner 2 -1. The next goal came when Tony Quigley beat his man on the wing to drill across the box for Chalfont’s defender to deflect the ball into his next 3 -1. Isaac then scored his second goal with a tidy finish 4 – 1. Sunday 20th Sept 09 - Away Holtspur FC v Lane End Lions U16s
Lane End Climbed to 3rd in Division 1 after a good performance against newly promoted Holtspur FC. Lane End started well taking the game to Holtspur and was playing some great football. The Lions were rewarded when Ryan Carrolls long throw went into the Holtspur net off a defenders head, 0-1 to the Lions. Another fine move orchestrated by Carroll was taken in his stride by Brad Miguel who was fouled in the penalty area as he fired into the net, but the ref had already given the penalty which Brad smashed in to claim his goal 0-2. Lane End were still passing and moving well which resulted in a looping shot from sub Tony Quigley which dropped over the keeper and into the net 0-3 to the Lions at half time. The second half was a much scrappier affair with both teams canceling each other out and although Holtspur managed to score 2 late goals, Lane End were always in control and never looked like loosing. Well done boys lets keep it up. Man of the Match - Brad Miguel - Best you have played so far. The Club want to wish Nathan Mushigo a speedy recovery from his injuries and all his team mates would like to dedicate this victory to him.

Sunday 10th May 09 - Away Chalfont Wasps U16s v Lane End Lions
A friendly played on the Wasps first team pitch showed how much this team has grown. The team was playing football and playing for each other. Some crisp football was rewarded when Ashley Hanson broke through on the right and riffled the ball home 0 – 1. Lane End then went close again but the Wasps then counter attacked and produced a cross that deflected into our net 1 – 1. The goal, as often does for the Lions, inspired them into action. First some great skill from Isaac Tutu resulted in a great goal and opened his account for the club 1 - 2. Five minutes later he again took on the Wasps defence and again was too skilful and drove it into the net 1 - 3. Isaac then set up his mate Brad Miguel who drilled it home for his debut goal 1 -4. The Wasps then made it 2 – 4 just before half time.
Second half, the Wasps were trying to push forward but Lane End’s back four of Aaron, Reece, Warren & Josh were very solid. Lane End then broke through and Luke Cohen finished well for 2 -5. He then went on to bundle the ball over again for 2 -6. Lane End were dominating the game and it wasn’t long before the back to form Nathan Mushigo stoked home goal number 7. Luke Cohen then dropped into mid-field and sent Ryan Carroll away to score with a delightful chip over the advancing Wasps keeper to finish the scoring 2 – 8 to the Mighty Lions.

Play went on with the Lions having all the action, a free kick was awarded and up stepped Jerome Peters to take what was a fine shot and his second goal 5-0 the Lions, that wasn’t enough, the whole team worked hard and stayed strong which led to Danny Robinson netting his third for a hat-trick 6-0 the Lions, this made him hungry for more and he went on to score his fourth goal of the game. Sunday 26th April 09 - Home Lane End Lions v Harefield Utd
An injury ravaged Land End Lions dug out a vital point against Harefield Utd. The game started well for the Lions with Ryan Carroll putting us in front with a fine chip over the advancing goal keeper 1-0. He then doubled his and the Lane End tally with a fierce drive into the roof of the net. 2-0 to the lions at half time.
Second half – Nathan Mushigo had to withdraw with his leg injury getting worse and he was joined by Ryan O’Linn who also came off injured. The subs were all on, we were still carrying injured players and playing uphill. We held out for quite sometime, with Dean Rogers pulling off a string of fine saves. Harefield pressure was mounting and it paid off for them as they made it 2-1 from a corner. More pressure, another corner and another goal for Harefield 2-2. Then with a super human effort Lane End limped forward and Luke Cohen went close, forcing a Lane End corner. Sam Robinson lifted it into the box and SUPER SUB – Cameron Fitzgibbon somehow got his long leg to put it in off the underside of the bar, and opened his account for the club. This was not missed by his team mates who were overjoyed for him. 3-2 to the Lions with time running out and Lane End fighting for every ball, but Harefield broke through to equalize. It was all Harefield now and Lane End were hanging on, but hang on they did and earned a vital point. Final score 3-3.

Sunday 1st February 09 - Away Gerrards Cross v Lane End Lions
The Lions took on Gerrards Cross & Fulmer U16s and although an older side it was the younger Lions who looked stronger. They took the lead after five minutes when early pressure from the lions forced an own goal. Gerrards Cross were camped in their own half and a three pass move started by Shakari Webster and finished with aplomb by the excellent Nathan Mushigo 2 – 0. A thumping drive from Warren Sharif was unlucky as it cannoned of the inside of the post from twenty yards. Aaron Taylor then burst down the line and produced a fine cross for Sam Robinson to finish, only for a very dubious decision to rule it out. Sam didn’t have to wait long though as Ryan Carrolls powerful shot was saved by the keeper and Sam headed in at the far post 3 – 0. Daniel Larkai then went on a mazy run down the wing and his shot come cross was finished off by Shakari Webster 4 – 0. Luke Cohen then broke free of the defence and slotted it under the advancing keeper 5 – 0, half time. The Lions formation was changed round for the second half and although they had plenty of shots the Gerrards Cross keeper was keeping them out with a string of fine saves. At the other end Warren Sharif was showing why he hasn’t played in goal since junior school as he forgot he could use his hands. Gerrards Cross got a lucky goal 5 – 1. Memo to team Don’t put Warren in goal again, a brilliant defender but goal keeper he ain’t LOL. The best move of the game was when centre half Josh Hutt powered his way forward past most of the Gerrards Cross team and his clever cross was fired into the net brilliantly by Ashley Hanson. Memo to linesman you cannot be off side if you are behind the ball when kicked. Final score 6 – 1 to the Lions. A good fun game it BRRRRR freezing conditions. Man of the Match – Nathan Mushigo – Who was excellent today and worked hard for the team. Most Improved went jointly to Cam Fitzgibbon and Daniel Larkai. Both played most of the game and made the most of their opportunity. Cam was strong and solid. Daniel showed plenty for silky skills and drove us forward down the wing. Ricky Walton also impressed, good at the back and good in goal too. Goals – GX OG 1, Nathan Mushigo 1, Sam Robinson 1, Shakari Webster 1, Luke Cohen 1, Ashley Hanson 1.

stabbing it over the line for the equalizer with the last kick of normal time. This opened his account with his first goal for the Lions.
